So, I didn’t realise April was considered a national poetry month (apparently not in the UK, as I didn’t seem to find anything referencing such, though I’m sure many poets, regardless of where they were living, got involved).
Excited to uncover loads more prompts, I decided to visit the NaPoWriMo site and get writing! I have done my best to make this one poem a day, which shall be revealed one a day throughout June, even though I started some time in May. (I didn’t do the early bird prompt.)
From website:
And now for our daily (and totally optional) prompt. Today, we’d like to challenge you to write – without consulting the book – a poem that recounts the plot, or some portion of the plot, of a novel that you remember having liked but that you haven’t read in a long time.
For this I have a haiku (really a fake haiku as it doesn’t follow the rules regarding seasons and nature):
All children have dreams As cloned organ donors do Not all have fair Fates
Incidentally, the highlighted poem (scroll down for the link) referenced the book that I almost wrote a “haiku” about, which would have been something like this:
A student passing His time with lovers and songs One suicide stays
‘Til tomorrow…
